Voters in Blackburn and Darwen have now had their voices heard in local council elections for 2022.
There were seats available within 17 wards wards including Audley & Queen's Park, Beastwell and Daisyfield, Billinge and Beardwood, Blackburn Central, Blackburn South and Lower Darwen, Blackburn South East, Darwen East, Darwen South, Darwen West, Ewood, Little Harwood and Whitebirk, Livesey and Pleasington, Mill Hill and Moorgate, Roe Lee, Shear Brow and Corporation Park, Wensley Fold, and West Pennine.
Prior to the election, the local council was run by a majority of Labour with only 12 seats taken up by Conservatives, two taken up by the Liberal Democrats and two taken up by Independents.
Local elections took place for more than 200 local authorities across the UK, including all 33 London boroughs and 34 metropolitan boroughs in England. In Greater Manchester seats were available in the region's 10 councils.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 5, with the Blackburn with Darwen count expected to take place on Friday during the day.
