We've been waiting so long for GTA 6 that someone just found another GTA 4 swingset glitch after 18 years

It may not seem like it, but a streamer playing Grand Theft Auto 4 and watching their character get flung into outer space after crashing their motorcycle is one of the most significant things to happen to the game in the last 18 years.

GTA streamer Gtamen successfully found a "swing glitch" or "swingset glitch" (parks tend to be where it happens the most) that nobody else has ever found before. They were casually riding their bike down a pier when they drove into a tight spot between a gate and a pole. As soon as they got close, their character was instantly killed and catapulted into the sky.

Gtamen watched this happen in disbelief asking his chat, "What the fuck was that?" Then, of course, he went and tried it again. "Oh, it's consistent," he said, watching his character take flight once again.

"I literally just unironically found a new fucking swingset glitch or a launch glitch in this game!" he exclaimed.

Most notably, Gtamen's character wasn't killed the second time he performed the glitch, which is rare if you're not doing it in a car. That doesn't necessarily make it particularly useful for anything, but it's a neat occurrence that other swing glitch locations don't always offer.

The swing glitch is one of GTA 4's most famous glitches and one that I'm pretty sure I've encountered while playing the game. Honestly, before seeing the clip I had no idea that it was repeatable and something the community has been cataloging for years.

I guess that's what happens when you have nothing else to do but wait for the next GTA game. GTA 5 almost entirely removed the glitch, which just leaves GTA 6. We can only hope that Rockstar will save some spots that'll turn your character into a rocket when it's out in November.
