Wetherspoons has announced the closure of 11 pubs, including two in Merseyside.
CEO Tim Martin confirmed the pub chain will be closing 11 of its locations, including The Willow Grove in Southport and Wild Rose in Bootle. The pub chain suffered a huge £30m loss, and as well as closing venues, has put 35 pubs up for sale are in city centres across England and Scotland.
The Mirror reports all the locations up for sale will remain open and continue to trade as Wetherspoon sites until they are sold. All of the earmarked venues are being considered for sale individually, in small packages, or as a portfolio.
