A housing estate on the edge of Weston-super-Mare has been cordoned off and residents evacuated as part of a major police operation currently still happening.
Police said they attended an address in Turnock Gardens in the suburb of West Wick at around 11am today, to speak to an individual as part of an ongoing investigation.
Avon and Somerset police have not given any more information about the nature of that ongoing investigation.

However, what we do know is that officers who turned up to talk to the man inside a house in Turnock Gardens raised concerns about the situation, and called for back-up.
That happened just after 11am today, and since then, police, ambulance and fire and rescue services have been in something of a stand-off with the individual - believed to be a man.
Armed police have been patrolling the area outside the house, while trained negotiators attempt to talk to the individual inside and persuade him to end the situation peacefully. Firefighters from Weston-super-Mare have unrolled their hoses and are ready, while paramedics are waiting in the background.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: "Police attended an address in Turnock Gardens, West Wick, at about 11am today, Tuesday 25 January, to speak to an individual as part of an ongoing investigation.
“Due to concerns raised by the officers in attendance, we’ve now deployed a number of resources to the scene, including trained negotiators and partners from the fire and rescue and ambulance services.
“Although we don’t believe there is a risk to the wider public, the road is currently closed and a small number of residents living nearby have been evacuated as a precaution," a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police added.
Turnock Gardens is a relatively new, 21st century-built, estate on the very edge of Weston-super-Mare, close to the M5 and the A370.
Around 20 homes are understood to be within the police cordon, although it is not clear if all of those residents have been evacuated as a precautionary measure by police.
