Nicky Byrne revealed his injuries on Instagram but insisted ‘the show must go on’
(Picture: Getty / Instagram)Westlife singer Nicky Byrne has provided a glimpse of the painful-looking injuries he sustained after falling through the stage while performing on Saturday.
The Flying Without Wings hit-maker, 44, shockingly fell below the staging at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro after not noticing that mechanical stairs had opened up behind him.
The Irish star thanked well-wishers for their messages in an Instagram post on Sunday, and shared images of his bruises.
“Hey All, Thank you for all your well wishes! So last night I did have a little accident on stage in Glasgow, where I didn’t realise the mechanical stairs had opened behind me,” Byrne said.
“A crazy moment which could have been a lot worse but I’m completely fine, a little bit battered and bruised but ok! I’ll see y’all back up there tonight.”
“The show must go on. Thanks for all your well wishes,” he added, followed by the hashtag “ReallyFlyingWithoutWings”.
Byrne and his bandmates Shane Filan, Markus Feehily and Kian Egan are currently touring the UK with their latest album Wild Dreams.
They still have dates to play in Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham, before heading to the London O2 on December 7.
Their tour will conclude in Bangkok on February 28.
