With the clock ticking on their future, Western United's off-field issues have cost them recruit Jaiden Kucharski, who has departed without playing a competitive game.

United are in a fight for their existence, with staff and players in limbo, after they were stripped of their A-Leagues licence on August 8 by Football Australia for financial reasons.
