Presidents Jed Bartlet and Selina Meyer are back in office for a joint political fundraiser with the casts of “The West Wing” and “Veep.”
The casts of the two prestige political shows are teaming up for a livestreamed fundraiser for Wisconsin Democrats on Oct. 9, stars Bradley Whitford and Julia Louis-Dreyfus announced Tuesday.
“In 2022, the road to saving democracy runs directly through my home state of Wisconsin,” Whitford, who played deputy communications director Josh Lyman on “The West Wing,” said in a video.
“Every race, up and down the ballot, is crucial for Democrats to invest in and win,” said Louis-Dreyfus, who played Meyer on “Veep.”
The pair even got in a joke about Gary Cole, who appeared in both shows, as Kent Davison in “Veep” and Bingo Bob Russell in “The West Wing.”
Other co-stars scheduled for the livestream include Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, Mary McCormack, Janel Moloney, Melissa Fitzgerald, Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Matt Walsh, Tim Simons and Cole.
In 2020, the cast of “The West Wing” got back together to stage a special reunion episode of the Season 3 episode “Hartsfield’s Landing” to raise money for When We All Vote, with special guests including Lin-Manual Miranda, former first lady Michelle Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Samuel L. Jackson filling the commercial breaks with a plea to register and vote.
