West Lothian talent will take centre stage this festival season after local stars were announced as headline acts.
East Whitburn’s own Lewis Capaldi has been announced as one of the headliners for Radio 1’s Big Weekend music fest in Dundee.
The singer joins Niall Horan and Anne-Marie at the three-day festival, which will be held at Camperdown Park in the city between May 26 and May 28, with more than 80,000 revellers expected to descend on the city for the highly popular event.
The event was originally set to go ahead in Dundee in 2020, but due to the covid pandemic, it was cancelled.
Meanwhile, dance duo LF System will be front and centre at TRNSMT when it comes to Glasgow Green in July.
They join headliners Pulp, Sam Fender, Niall Horan, Kasabian and The 1975.
The excited duo – Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan – said they are “absolutely buzzing” to be asked to play.
Last month we reported that Lewis and LF System will go head-to-head at the BRIT Awards.
The stars have both been nominated for Song Of The Year.
Lewis is in the running for his track ‘Forget Me’, while LF System have been nominated for their massive dance track, ‘Afraid to Feel’, which spent seven weeks at the top of the singles chart.
More information about Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2023, including the full line-up and ticketing details, will be announced on Radio 1 in the coming months.
