West Lothian mum spots Hollywood Marvel icon Samuel L Jackson on sleepy street

Hollywood A-lister Samuel L. Jackson produced a hilarious response to a West Lothian fan who drove past him while on the set of a new Marvel production.

The legendary American actor has shocked locals in West Lothian in recent days after being spotted in areas such as Livingston and Bathgate while filming takes place for his new film The Marvels.

One woman and her son spotted Samuel standing on a quiet street on Mid Street, Bathgate, on Thursday and sought the opportunity to shout to the 74-year-old and his response was perfect.

Sharing the comedic video to Facebook, Deborah Gemmell was in the passenger seat with her son Casey in the back as they passed Samuel. As they drove past the actor and several production crew members, Deborah's son shouted: "Nick Fury," in reference to Samuel's alias in the Marvel movies.

After pausing for a second and looking at Deborah and her son as they passed, the actor quipped: "That's the third time you've been by here."

The film crew started laughing as Samuel just smiled back as Deborah continued past. Deborah's video has already racked up over 700 reactions and nearly 400 comments in less than 24 hours.

Captioning the video she said: "Celeb spotting tonight in Bathgate- stalking Samuel L Jackson."

Speaking on the excitement of catching a glimpse of the much-loved actor, she added: "It was a wee bit excitement for Bathgate last night. My son loves Marvel so I couldn’t not take him out last night to find him.

"We drove along the Mid street around 40 or 50 times from around 5.30pm until around 9pm looking for him and eventually seen him, although he must have spotted us first because he said that was three times we had went by.

"I was driving and my friend Mo was in passenger seat taking pics and videos and my son was in the back.

"He was filming in the street. That’s why I kept driving up and down as all the film crew were out there and crowds of people. They were there from 5pm until 11pm last night doing a car scene for one of his new movies."

On Tuesday, trailers, production crew and a food truck were seen outside the Tony Macaroni Arena in Livingston, believed to be a set for new film The Marvels, also staring Brie Larson, Gemma Chan and Tessa Thompson.

The production village at Almond Valley (Daily Record)

Almond Valley Heritage Centre posted on FB: "A little bit of Hollywood came to Almond Valley this week as our overflow car park was transformed into the production village of a major film production.

"A string of big fancy trailers parked up in our field, providing base camp for cast and crew as they filmed at various local locations. It was (and is) all very top-secret and even if we knew more, we wouldn’t clype.

"Suffice to say, we’re preparing a commemorative plaque, proudly stating 'somewhere near this bush, make-up was applied to Samuel L. Jackson'"
