A West Lothian man was rushed to hospital at the weekend after he sustained a serious facial injury following a late-night attack.
Police in the area have appealed to the public for information following the incident in Bathgate, which took place in the early hours of Saturday (August 20.)
According to officers, the 37-year-old man sustained the injury at around 12.30am when he was assaulted on Hopetoun Steet.

Emergency services had raced to the scene, where the man was then taken to St Johns Hospital for treatment.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Cairney said: “A man sustained a serious injury as a result of this incident.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which may assist us to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area around the time to check dasham footage and contact us.”
