NHS chiefs have denied a “creeping closure” of St Michael’s Hospital in Linlithgow as it was revealed the doors will stay closed until June.
West Lothian’s Integrated Joint Board agreed that the hospital - a geriatric long-stay unit specialising in assessment, palliative care and respite care - should remain shuttered until the middle of the year because of the ongoing covid driven staffing crisis.
In a report to the board which oversees jointly managed health and social care provision between West Lothian Council and NHS Lothian, chief officer Alison White said the situation at St Michael’s remained the same as in her previous report.
