The insurer found West Lothian is the cheapest area in Scotland to refuel with an average petrol price of £1.48 per litre (39p less expensive per litre than the most expensive areas in Scotland to refuel).
However, petrol in West Lothian has increased 12.2 per cent in the last two months (16p per litre) and 14 per cent in Edinburgh (22p per litre).
In joint first place for the highest petrol prices per litre in Scotland are Dumfries and Galloway, Inverclyde, and East Dunbartonshire with average petrol prices of £1.86 per litre.
Aberdeenshire and East Ayrshire have seen the highest petrol price hikes in Scotland over the last two months with petrol prices increasing an average of 16% (26p per litre in both districts).
In Dumfries and Galloway and Stirling, petrol prices have hiked an average of 15.5 per cet and 15.3 per cent, respectively (25p per litre).
The City of Glasgow had the lowest petrol price increases in Scotland in the last two months with petrol increasing by 9.9 per cent (15p per litre).
A spokesperson for the company said: “Researchers calculated how much the average motorist is set to spend on petrol over the next 12 months, based on the local cost of fuel vs local median salaries.
“Based on motorists travelling the UK average of 7,490 miles per year, they multiplied the local cost of refuelling with petrol (as of June 14) and compared it to the local median salary in each of Scotland’s local authority districts.”
