West Lothian Council’s elections are just under a week away.
Residents are voting in each of the county’s nine wards on polling day next Thursday.
A total of 73 people will contest 33 seats on the council.
Labour and the SNP, are putting up the most candidates across the wards, while the Tories and Liberal Democrats each have a candidate in all nine.
This year, for the first time, the Greens too will contest all nine wards, and there are also a number of smaller political groups.
Six councillors who have between them delivered 82 years of service to communities in West Lothian have stepped down.
They include the Provost, Tom Kerr who has served his home town of Linlithgow on the council and its predecessor, West Lothian District Council since 1992
Also stepping down are David Dodds, Provost Tom Kerr, Sarah King and David Tait. Councillors John McGinty and Dom McGuire.
