West Lothian boxer marks return to ring by sealing third British title

Broxburn boxer Maddie Clarkson is targeting the World Championships after marking her return to the sport with a gold medal.

The 17-year-old Broxburn Academy pupil scooped top prize at the British Championships last week in her first competitive bout since a lengthy health scare.

Maddie, who boxes out of Forgewood Amateur Boxing Club in Motherwell, defeated England’s Sinead Willbye
in a split decision at the GB Junior and Youth Three Nations Championship in Barnsley in the gold medal bout.
