England return to Test action for the first time since their Ashes humiliation this winter as their three-match series against West Indies gets underway on Tuesday.
Joe Root’s side were hammered 4-0 down under as Australia retained the Urn, a hammering which has prompted wholesale changes in the England hierarchy.
Root has survived as captain, but head coach Chris Silverwood and men’s director of cricket Ashley Giles have both done, while senior bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson have both been dropped amid a number of player causalities.
With an interim team, lead by stand-in head coach Paul Collingwood in charge, it is not quite the start of a new era for English Test cricket, but there will be opportunities for new players to impress, including opener Alex Lees, who is set to make his debut in Antigua.
