West Ham XI vs Blackburn: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Carabao Cup today

West Ham boss David Moyes is rotates his team for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Blackburn.

The Hammers are in need of a positive result to lift spirits following Sunday’s late defeat to Crystal Palace, but with another crucial Premier League game, this time against Leicester City, to come on Saturday, the Scot will likely mix up his side again.

Centre-back Nayef Aguerd starts as he continues to ramp up his return from injury. The Moroccan, sidelined by a preseason ankle injury soon after his £28.5million arrival from Rennes, made his full debut last month against Silkeborg and also started in the Europa Conference League win over FCSB last month.

Moyes used that fixture - a dead rubber - to blood a number of young players but turns to a more experienced crop as he looked to ensure progression against Rovers tomorrow.

Lucas Paqueta, recently named in Brazil’s World Cup squad, returned to the side in the Palace defeat after a clavicle injury but is not risked.

Predicted West Ham XI: Areola; Coufal, Ogbonna, Aguerd, Johnson; Downes, Converty; Fornals, Lanzini, Emerson; Antonio
