West Ham transfers: Latest on Jan Bednarek, Craig Dawson, Ola Aina and Harrison Ashby

West Ham United could be in for a very busy transfer deadline day both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

So far, the Hammers have spent in the region of £160million on eight new signings, with marquee arrival Lucas Paqueta the latest acquisition, who completed a move to the London Stadium on Monday in a deal that could rise to a club-record fee after add-ons.

With less than 12 hours to go until the window closes, here is a full round-up of the latest deals that could happen involving David Moyes’ side on Thursday.

Jan Bednarek

Southampton defender Jan Bednarek is a player that the Hammers are interested in, with the club keen to add another centre-back on deadline day if they lose Craig Dawson.

football.london understands that the club are interested in Bednarek, however, he is set to have a medical ahead of completing a loan move to Aston Villa.

The defender has fallen down the pecking order at St Mary’s, with Mohammed Salisu and Armel Bella-Kotchap starting ahead of him and potentially further additions being made by Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side before the window closes.

Craig Dawson

A likely exit from the club on deadline day is that of centre-back Craig Dawson. The 32-year-old is understood to be keen on a move back to the West Midlands and reports claim that he is in advanced talks to join Wolverhampton Wanderers.

football.london understands that at present, a deal is currently not close for Dawson at this stage, although that could well change imminently. Reports have suggested that the Hammers have pulled the plug on letting Dawson join Wolves after missing out on Bednarek.

Moyes does not want Dawson to leave the club but has said that he would look at potential replacements if he did leave.

Duje Caleta-Car

A long-standing name linked with West Ham is that of Marseille centre-back Duje Caleta-Car. The defender, who turns 26 later this month, has been heavily touted with Hammers interest for some time.

However, football.london understands that Caleta-Car is currently on route to join Southampton. Should that move be completed, it could in theory pave the way for Bednarek to move to West Ham.

The defender has spent the last four years at Marseille, playing 130 times for the French side in all competitions.

Ola Aina

West Ham have had a bid of £6.9million rejected by Torino to sign right-back Ola Aina before the deadline closes.

The Nigerian international, previously of Chelsea and Fulham, has been on the club's radar, with it believed that the Hammers are keen to add another full-back to their ranks.

football.london understands that the Serie A side turned down a bid from the Hammers earlier today.

Harrison Ashby

First reported by the Daily Mail, Newcastle United do hold an interest in young West Ham full-back Harrison Ashby.

However, football.london understands that while the Magpies are interested in the 20-year-old, no formal interest has been declared yet.

The right-back played in the first leg of the Europa Conference League win over Danish side Viborg last month and has made six first-team appearances.

Other gossip

Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker was a player of interest to West Ham. However, reports claim that he is closing in on a move to West Midlands rivals Aston Villa.

Versatile Arsenal player Ainsley Maitland-Niles has also been linked with the Hammers this summer. However, he is close to joining Southampton.
