West Ham's summer spending more than David Moyes wanted with further signings 'unlikely'

David Moyes has admitted that he is "not sure" if West Ham will make any further signings during the window after finalising the signature of Lucas Paquetá from Lyon.

Football.london understands that a deal for Paquetá has been agreed between the two clubs after Moyes had earlier this week acknowledged that the 24-year-old's pedigree is "really good."

Paquetá is set to follow Emerson Palmieri, Thilo Kehrer, Maxwell Cornet, Flynn Downes, Gianluca Scamacca and Nayef Aguerd through the door at the London Stadium, though it appears that the addition of the Brazilian international will bring an end to the club's summer activity.

Moyes explained: "We have brought in more than I wanted. We needed to try and move on, break up what we had. We're trying to build another good team. I'm not sure we will do more (transfer business)."

The Irons sit bottom of the Premier League table after beginning the 2022/2023 campaign with a hat-trick of consecutive defeats. Nevertheless, Moyes has his eyes set on coming away from Sunday's visit to Villa Park with all three points.

"It's hugely important (to win), we will do everything that we can to get started" the Scotsman said. "Villa have a good side, we have to try to go there and win ourselves."
