West Ham player ratings vs Wolves: Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek the worst of a bad bunch

West Ham have falled to a fifth defeat in their last six games as Wolves won at Molineux to move above the Hammers out of the relegation zone.

Manager David Moyes must now be fearing for his job with his team in the bottom three, overseeing a largely lifeless display until a late rally proved fruitless.

Here’s how Malik Ouzia rated West Ham at Molineux...

Lukasz Fabianski 6

Made one straightforward stop from Neves in first half. No chance with the goal.

Vladimir Coufal 5

Had a decent chance from Soucek’s flick-on but saw shot blocked. Feeble when closing down Podence.

Nayef Aguerd 6

Held a creaking back-line together at times, making two fine blocks on Cunha. Class on the ball. Booked.

Angelo Ogbonna 5

Lack of pace exposed on halfway and struggled to support Cresswell but good in the air.

Aaron Cresswell 4

Wolves enjoyed far too much joy down his flank, with Semedo getting in behind with ease. Failed to clear cross that led to Podence opener.

Declan Rice 5

Could he have attacked corner with more conviction before Wolves broke for the only goal. Volleyed late chance into the ground. Form since the World Cup now a real concern. Booked.

Tomas Soucek 4

Flick led to Coufal chance but otherwise this was another ineffective display. Hooked on the hour.

Lucas Paqueta 5

Does at least see more of the ball in this deeper role and never hides but didn’t create a chance of note. Saw deflected shot hit Antonio in the only real opening.

Jarrod Bowen 5

Tough early chance steered on target and put in a decent ball late on but was otherwise well dealt with. Saw door closed quickly on late chance.

Michail Antonio 4

Picked to lead the line against a side reportedly interested in signing him but this was not a good audition.

Pablo Fornals 6

Involved in most of West Ham’s most promising moves down the left in the first half, before shifting inside after Benrahma’s introduction.

Substitues

Said Benrahma (Soucek 60’) 6

Immediately created a chance for Paqueta with jinking run and pull-back. Should have started.

Gianluca Scamacca (Fornals 76’)

Unused: Randolph, Emerson, Kehrer, Zouma, Johnson, Downes, Lanzini.
