West Ham player ratings vs Leicester: Lucas Paqueta has stinker as Gianluca Scamacca continues to tail off

West Ham produced another poor display as they were beaten by Leicester

(Picture: PA)

West Ham suffered their third Premier League defeat on the bounce as they were beaten 2-0 by Leicester.

James Maddison scored but then limped off in the first-half, sparking concern just nine days before England get their World Cup underway, before Harvey Barnes doubled the lead after the break.

Here’s how David Moyes’ side rated at the London Stadium...

Lukasz Fabianski 8

West Ham’s most consistent player this season came up with what felt like a huge penalty save from Tielemans. Did not prove the case.

Thilo Kehrer 6

Cracking low cross just about evaded Scamacca at the back post as West Ham pressed for leveller. Exposed on several occasions by ball between him and centre-backs, though.

Craig Dawson 4

Horrible bit of defending to be beaten by Saka and then lunge in for the penalty.

Kurt Zouma N/A

Injury scare in the warm-up, deemed fit to start but only lasted 14 minutes, by which time Hammers were already behind.

Aaron Cresswell 5

Ball-watching as Maddison was left unmarked at the back-post for opener.

Tomas Soucek 5

Had the ball in the net but rightly chalked off for offside. Replaced as Hammers chased game.

Declan Rice 5

Easy to point to a World Cup looming but way short of his best here.

Jarrod Bowen 6

Tried to drive Hammers on before the break, then in the wars after half-time.

Lucas Paqueta 4

Had a bit of a stinker, if truth be told. Went close with a couple of headers but repeatedly gave the ball away with his feet.

Said Benrahma 6

A sparky threat off the left but unable to create clear openings.

Gianluca Scamacca 4

Form has tailed off worryingly after an encouraging start. West Ham need him to come back firing after the break.

Substitutes

Nayef Aguerd (Zouma 14’)

Handed a Premier League debut after Zouma’s injury.

Pablo Fornals (Soucek 75’)

Unused: Areola, Johnson, Coufal, Emerson, Ogbonna, Downes, Lanzini.
