West Ham player ratings vs Everton: Aaron Cresswell hits beauty, Jarrod Bowen's instant impact

Lukasz Fabianski Having had nothing to do in the first half, he punched weakly from the corner that led to the equaliser.. The Poland international will have expected better from himself. Not called on again. 5

Ryan Fredericks One of three changes to the starting XI and may now keep his spot in midweek. Denied Richarlison the opening goal after Alex Iwobi's pass cut the West Ham defence in half but then allowed the Brazilian through for a good chance that was sent over six minutes before the interval. The only blemish to an otherwise good outing. 7

Craig Dawson Dominic Calvert-Lewin was kept quiet for the majority of his 78 minutes on the pitch and Dawson was the primary reason for that. Did very, very little wrong. 7

Kurt Zouma One of his quieter afternoons. In complete control against a mostly disjointed Everton attack. 6

Aaron Cresswell A remarkable opening goal, bending his free kick from just under 25 yards into the top right corner. Jordan Pickford had no chance. Sent a second free kick from similar range narrowly wide with 25 minutes to go. Comfortable in defence. 8

Declan Rice Excellent aside from coughing the ball up cheaply early in the second half, allowing Iwobi to feed Calvert-Lewin who then glazed the post. 7

Tomas Soucek Kept things ticking over with minimal fuss. 7

Pablo Fornals Had the game's first shot blocked by Michael Keane. Deflected Holgate's shot in but he had minimal time to react. Then played the pass to Antonio in the lead up to West Ham's second. Booked in added time. 7

Said Benrahma Lively enough without making a telling contribution. Had one shot on target. Substituted late on. 6

Jarrod Bowen No signs of rust after a month on the sidelines and won the free kick that led to Cresswell's goal by drawing the foul from Holgate before calmly converting into an empty net to put the home side back in front. Replaced by Mark Noble with 20 minutes to go, with one eye on keeping him fresh for Thursday's big game against Lyon. 7

Michail Antonio Looked revitalised after some much-needed rest. Had a shot blocked after a dangerous run 10 minutes in and then found the side netting having rounded Pickford nearing the break. Well positioned to drive forward and shoot in lead up to Bowen's goal. 7

Substitutes

Mark Noble (for Bowen, 70) Added meat to the midfield for the final 20 minutes, ensuring Everton had even less space to exploit. 5

Andriy Yarmolenko (for Benrahma, 82) Loud cheers for the Sevilla hero. n/a

Not used Alphonse Areola, Aji Alese, Issa Diop, Vladimir Coufal, Arthur Masuaku, Alex Kral, Nikola Vlasic.
