West Ham player ratings as Jarrod Bowen earns his reward with goal in friendly draw with Fulham

Jarrod Bowen was on target as West Ham came from behind to draw 1-1 with London rivals Fulham in a mid-season friendly at Craven Cottage.

Fulham were largely on top in the first half, with Willian and Tom Cairney impressing for Marco Silva's side as West Ham struggled to get hold of the ball at times.

Bowen did go close for the Hammers, but it was no surprise when Carlos Vinicius gave Fulham the lead as he headed home from Kenny Tete's cross on 43 minutes, with the only surprise perhaps being it took them so long to score.

West Ham improved after the break, with Pablo Fornals and Bowen both going close to an equaliser early in the second half. And they did level the scores just after the hour mark, with Bowen capitalising with a fine low finish after Flynn Downes won the ball on the edge of the Fulham box.

Here's how we rated the West Ham players at Craven Cottage.

Lukasz Fabianski - His handling was good early on as he came to collect a couple of crosses and punch the ball clear. Also got down well low to his left to keep out Andreas Pereira's volleyed effort. There was little he could do about Vinicius' header. 6

Vladimir Coufal - Was disciplined in his role defensively and got forward well in support of the attack down West Ham's right and played a good cross for Jarrod Bowen, who should have done better. 6

Craig Dawson - Steady at the back and did well against Carlos Vinicius for the most part, but the former Tottenham man got across him to head home Kenny Tete's cross. Made a couple of good blocks in his own box. 6

Angelo Ogbonna - Captained the side in the absence of Declan Rice and was very vocal as he barked out instructions to his teammates in and out of possession. 5

Emerson Palmieri - Got forward on a few occasions from left-back, but his end product was at times, lacking. Forced to play more defensively at times than he would have liked due to Fulham's dominance. 5

Tomas Soucek - Played as the deepest-lying midfielder for West Ham and had very few touches of note in the first half. Committed a few fouls, but did his bit defensively on set pieces. Got more involved further forward late on and was denied a winner by a superb save from Marek Rodak after a towering header. 5

Pablo Fornals - Did not see too much of the ball as West Ham struggled to get a hold of it in midfield in the first half. Worked hard off the ball and grew into the game, missing a great chance to score early in the second half. 5

Manuel Lanzini - Got frustrated at times as the ball ran away from him. Not particularly influential in the game as Tom Cairney, Andreas Pereira and Harrison Reed dominated the midfield battle for Fulham. 4

Said Benrahma - Offered an outlet down West Ham's left and opened his box of tricks on occasion, albeit with not all of them coming off. He was wasteful with his final pass or shot too often, although he did provide a threat and was still a source of creativity for the Hammers. 5

Jarrod Bowen - Started on the right, but moved up top after Gianluca Scamacca went off. Worked hard on his own up front, but missed a glorious chance to open the scoring as Vladimir Coufal found him in the middle of the box. He tried to place his first-time effort into the corner, but put it wide when he should have hit the target. Went agonisingly close early in the second half too with a neat control and shot that flashed just past the post. But finally got his reward with a fine low finish just after the hour mark. 7

Gianluca Scamacca - Was only on for around ten minutes, but barely touched the ball in that time, before he was forced off with an injury concern following a challenge from Andreas Pereira. Did not look comfortable as he trudged off the pitch towards the tunnel. N/A

Substitutes

Flynn Downes (on for Scamacca, 12) - Got stuck in in the midfield for West Ham after his introduction, and won the ball in a dangerous area for Bowen to level the scores. 6

Ben Johnson (on for Emerson, 73) - Given a run out at left-back for the final quarter of an hour and didn't do too much wrong, but did not get forward as much as Emerson tried to. 5

Divin Mubama (on for Benrahma, 86) - Not enough time to make an impact.

Kamarai Swyer (on for Bowen, 86) - Like Mubama, not enough time to make an impact.
