West Ham's Europa League quarter-final against Lyon has sold out in record time, with Hammers fans snapping up tickets for the home leg in just four days.

Season-ticket holders and West Ham members secured every seat at the London Stadium before the club even released general admission tickets.

The Hammers face the French side in the first leg of their first European quarter-final since 1981 on Thursday, April 7.

With the 2-0 last-16, second-leg victory over Sevilla having seen the greatest atmosphere the London Stadium has produced since West Ham moved in, the demand was through the roof for the Lyon fixture, with the club dealing with a level of interest and calls like never before.

Goals from Tomas Soucek and Andriy Yarmolenko saw West Ham overcome a 1-0 first-leg deficit against the six-time winners after extra time last week.

The Sevilla game saw West Ham's largest ever crowd for a home match with 60,000 spectators in attendance, set to be matched by the Lyon tie.

Manager David Moyes said this week: "When I came in I said the biggest thing about West Ham was the potential and, I thought, untapped in many ways. Who would have said two years ago we would have 60,000 here to get West Ham to the quarter-finals of the Europa League? And I see a great chance for things to improve even further.

“I think if you're going to play us, you know you're in for a game. We always want to challenge the best teams. At the moment the place is jumping. I’m seeing West Ham supporters everywhere I go and we are really looking forward to another great night at London Stadium.”

Hammers fans who have not been able to get a ticket may get another shot should Lyon return some of their allocation.

West Ham will travel to Lyon, who are 10th in Ligue 1, for the second leg on Thursday, April 14.
