David Moyes hailed his fluid West Ham front three after Lucas Paqueta’s “incredible” assist and goals from Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus downed Manchester United on Saturday.
The Hammers climbed above Erik ten Hag’s struggling side with a 2-0 victory at the London Stadium.
Following on from the 3-0 win over Wolves last Sunday, Paqueta has now set up each of the Irons last five League goals, while Bowen and Kudus have been in prolific form of late, their tallies for the season now standing at 12 and nine goals respectively.
Bowen has been converted to centre-forward this term and opened the scoring when latching onto Paqueta’s magnificent pass off the outside of the boot, but Moyes believes his trio are capable of playing across the line.
“I think our best part was actually later on when we put Paqueta up front and moved Jarrod out wide,” the Scot explained. "He got his goal from there. But I want the boys to be flexible. Mo can play up front as well now and they’re beginning to understand that we can interchange them and move them around. I thought that was our best period in the game.
"When Paqueta went to centre-forward he held the ball up brilliantly well, brought people into the game, got Jarrod in. I think Jarrod wants to score now. He wants to get in to score. The ball was a brilliant ball, incredible ball by Paqueta. But even the touch and control, the first bit where the ‘keeper half-saved it and he still finds a way of getting the ball in the net.”
