West end restaurant receives top marks from Gordon Ramsay after visit

A west end restaurant received praise from Gordon Ramsay after the top chef visited to try it out.

Ox and Finch, located in Finnieston, got a visit from the famous chef last night and shared a picture of Gordon with staff on their Instagram. Gordon had a smile for the camera as he was obviously pleased with his dinner, a rarity for the famously fussy chef.

The Sauchiehall Street restaurant has been included in previous Michelin guides and has been given the high acclaim of a Bib Gourmand.

Commenting on the restaurants post, Gordon said: "Such a great dinner, thank you and congrats."

Restaurant owners had tagged Gordon in the post, saying: "Thrilled to welcome you to Ox and Finch tonight, Gordon."

Customers replied to the post in excitement, with one saying: "Well, doesn’t he look a happy diner".

While another said: "Class! I visited you guys for the first time in February and haven’t stopped talking about it since! Pleased to see good guys getting recognition for doing good things".

The restaurant has a contemporary menu which is designed to be shared, with their menu holding a large variety of tasty small plates and sides.

We previously reported that Gordon was visiting the city while filming, as he also visited his former football club, Rangers.

The team behind Ox and Finch also run popular Glasgow eatery, Ka Pao, which is an Asian inspired restaurant. It has also featured in previous Michelin Guides.
