A 'beacon of hope' will be lit over West Dunbartonshire this week as part of a range of events marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.
The light will be positioned at Dumbarton Castle and will be lit in unison with more than 1500 others in areas all over the UK at 9.45pm this Thursday.
On Thursday evening, Provost Douglas McAllister, Dunbartonshire’s Vice Lord Lieutenant Linda Moffat and the council’s Chief Executive Joyce White will attend Dumbarton Castle to light the torch to music provided by piper Colin Lawrie to mark 70 years of Queen Elizabeth as Monarch.
