West Brom handed injury boost ahead of Sunderland clash as key quartet set to be in contention

West Bromwich Albion look set to be buoyed by the return of a number of key players ahead of Monday night's clash with Sunderland. That is according to Birmingham Live, who claim the Baggies could have Daryl Dike, Semi Ajayi, Grady Diangana and Karlan Grant all in contention for the match at the Stadium of Light.

Unlike Sunderland - who got their Championship campaign back underway last weekend with a 3-0 win over Millwall - it has been almost four weeks since West Brom were back in action. That has provided them with enough time to get players back up to full fitness for the resumption of the season after the World Cup break.

Dike made his return to action after three months out against Stoke City in West Brom's final game before the season came to a halt, playing the final minute of the 2-0 win. He did, however, get 45 minutes into the legs in the friendly defeat against Elche and so is likely to be in the squad.

Centre back Ajayi, meanwhile, has been missing since August but also managed half a game in Spain last month. Grant, too, made his return in the friendly after his absence from the final two matches before the break.

The final player who looks set to be available is winger Diangana, despite the fact he missed the defeat to Elche. The game being scheduled for Monday means that has handed him just enough time to be able to feature on Wearside.
