KOLKATA: House-owners in Salt Lake may soon be allowed to construct an additional floor - a proposal that was mooted several years ago. The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started working on a draft plan for this even as civic officials said the proposal has been discussed and accepted in an MMiC meeting. It will now be placed before the board of councillors for approval.
The move will also allow conversion of temporary structures into permanent ones. For a long time, BMC has been receiving requ-ests from residents for permission to construct an extra floor.
