Chelsea are set to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City in a deal that could be a world record one for a defender. It comes after weeks of talks between the two sides, with the 21-year-old making his intentions clear to Leicester that he'd like to join Chelsea.
The Blues have been in talks with the Foxes over a move for Fofana throughout the past month and have seen three previous offers rejected for the France Under-21 international.
football.london understands Chelsea returned with a fourth bid worth a guaranteed £70million and further add-ons that would take the transfer above the £80million that Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 20219. Leicester had accepted that offer, and now, his contract details have been revealed.

Fofana is set to sign a six-year-deal at Chelsea, that will keep him contracted to the club until the age of 27.
Leicester will reportedly receive £70 million, along with add-on's that likely involve appearances for the club, as well as club and personal honours. This could see the deal rise as high as £80+ million, as mentioned above.
When Chelsea first registered their interest in Fofana, Rodgers publicly stated the centre-back was not for sale. However, that stance soon changed and Chelsea were privately given encouragement that a deal could be struck.
Leicester stood firm on their desire for a world-record fee for the defender and the Foxes are hopeful the package offered by Chelsea will eclipse the figure received for Maguire in the years ahead.
Fofana will not be involved in today's game between the two sides.
