A probation delivery unit has been told it requires improvement following an investigation by HM Inspectorate of Probation.
Gwent Probation Delivery Unit (PDU) received a second lowest rating following the inspection, although the inspector stressed the unit had faced unprecedented challenges as a result of the pandemic.
Gwent PDU was impacted by reduced capacity in group work, unpaid work and interventions, as well as managing staffing shortages.
