The very best of British pies have been announced and makers from Wales have seen their creations picked out as among the elite.
The British Pie Awards saw 23 different classes of hot and cold savoury and dessert pies and pasties for the 151 judges to consider at the competition, which returned to its traditional March timing in Melton Mowbray after the pandemic saw last year’s competition moved to September.
A record 976 pies from 179 piemakers entered this year's competition. It was the gluten-free Mooless Pie from Pieminister of Bristol that took the crown as Supreme Champion of the 2022 British Pie Awards.
