One of Cardiff's newest hotels has been recognised as one of the UK's top places to stay in Britain just months after it opened its doors. Parador 44, which was created and brought to life by the siblings behind much-loved South Wales' tapas bar Bar 44 and Spanish Grill Asador 44, Tom Morgan, Owen Morgan and Natalie Isaac, who opened their first restaurant 20 years ago, has been named by The Guardian as one of 10 of Britain’s best new hotels.
The boutique hotel, which has nine rooms in total, is located in the heart of the Welsh capital and is named after and inspired-by the premise behind Spanish paradors - state-owned luxury hotels that have been converted from a beautiful and historic building such as a monastery or castle.
Parador 44 was transformed from The Model Inn into a metropolitan paradise that brought a slice of Iberia to Wales which began welcoming travellers - and locals - in late June of this year.

Being perfectly located above the group's restaurant Asador 44 - where we tried Parador 44's breakfast, read more here - guests can also make use of the group's sumptuous Spanish grill beneath, alongside the hotel's intimate lounge and terraza.

Listed among some gorgeous hotels across the country - such as London's Lost Property and Bournemouth's The Nici - The Guardian described this top-rated Welsh listing as: "A hit of Spanish style in the heart of the Welsh capital, Parador 44 opened in June, with just nine rooms, all furnished in traditional Andalucían style, with vintage Spanish wooden shutters and doors reused as bedsteads, alongside polished wood floors and crisp, cream furnishings.
"The rooms sit above Asador 44, the owners’ existing Spanish restaurant and wine house, which has a particular focus on Basque cuisine, while in the small lounge, guests are welcome to try the family’s own Manzanilla sherry and Galician white wine."
