The leader of a Welsh council found himself surrounded by A-list celebrities at King Charles' coronation. Andrew Morgan is the leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) Council and was invited to attend the ceremony as part of his role in the Welsh Local Government Association.
However it wasn't just the UK's new head of state he got to see. He also found himself next to pop icon Katy Perry while he was able to snap a selfie with I'm a Celeb presenters Ant and Dec.
Speaking after the service ended Cllr Morgan said: "It is really great fun. I was sitting with myself with someone from northern England and we were playing bingo about the famous people we saw. We were both trying not look like we were looking.
"The part I was in was the main area so I had a really good view in fairness. It was really good. I was there as the rep for local government in Wales. There was a similar one for Scotland and England."
Cllr Morgan said that the ceremony itself left him with his hairs standing on the back of his neck. He said: "Whether you support the monarchy or not it was just a great experience. It was the fact that it was privilege to be there. When the trumpeters played and everyone was singing it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up a bit. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
"A lot of people were passing. I was one one seat away form Chris Whitty and I had brief chat with him. It was surreal really. The head of Highways England was talking to me about the Rhondda Tunnel."
Senedd Member for the Rhondda Buffy Williams was alongside Andrew Morgan when they ended up snapping a picture with Ant and Dec. "They were coming through security," said Cllr Morgan. "We were in the process of taking photos and they came across and they said they would join in the photo. Declan was a little bit hyper and was hopping up and down. We had a good laugh with them."
