Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for Brighton star Leandro Trossard. The Gunners have now made the first move after opening talks with the Seagulls over a move for the Belgian forward, football.london understands.
The north London outfit had initially prioritised a move for Mykhailo Mudryk before the Blues swooped in to hijack the deal. The 22-year-old signed an eight-and-a-half year contract after completing an £88million transfer to Stamford Bridge from Shakhtar Donetsk, forcing Arsenal to look at alternative targets.
Spurs are said to have verbally offered £12million for Trossard, with Brighton holding out for close to double that fee. The 28-year-old forward's agent released a statement demanding that Trossard be allowed to leave after Roberto De Zerbi 'humiliated' him and dropped him from his matchday squad.

Trossard is a player who Arsenal have tracked since his time at Genk. He has since gone on to enjoy a Premier League career with Brighton and is valued as a player who could come in and hit the ground running. He has enjoyed a notable season up to this point, scoring seven and assisting three goals in 16 Premier League appearances. Arteta has been keen to sign a player who can play across the frontline having missed out on Mudryk this window and Raphinha in the summer, and Trossard's ability to do this could be key.
