Late in the first half of this Week 7 matchup, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb ran in a one-yard touchdown to cut the Cincinnati Bengals’ lead to 7-6.
In his first game since Week 2 of the 2023 season, Chubb has rushed 10 times for 20 yards, including 10 yards on the scoring drive. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was carted off with a non-contact injury after completing 15 of 17 passes for 128 yards, and backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson took over, attempting one incomplete pass.

Cleveland tight end David Njoku made the biggest play of the drive with a 13-yard catch, getting the Browns near midfield. A pass interference call on a pass attempt from Thompson-Robinson to Cedric Tillman set them up at the one-yard line from the 23, and Chubb eventually punched it in. A missed extra point by kicker Dustin Hopkins left the Browns down by one point, but they came close to leveling the score before halftime.
After a rough start with a kickoff return touchdown by the Bengals, the defense played a strong half, keeping the game within reach. Without Watson, Thompson-Robinson will look to find consistency to keep the Browns’ offense moving in the second half.
