WEKU received 13 journalism awards from the Kentucky Broadcasters Association. The 2022 'Impact' awards announced Thursday also included six first-place winners including:
- Stu Johnson - Best Sports Feature/Special for "Bluegrass Fencers' Club Now Home To A Gold Medalist"
- Cheri Lawson - Best Use of Sound for "Our Lady of Guadalupe"
- Cheri Lawson - Best Digital Coverage for "Kentucky Arts and Culture"
- Corinne Boyer - Best Investigative Reporting for "Prioritizing the Disabled for Covid Vaccines"
- Cynthia Resor, Tom Martin and Neil Kesterson "Public Education in Kentucky" for Best Special Series/Documentary
- Tom Eblen, Tom Martin and Neil Kesterson "Kentucky Authors with Tom Eblen" (Second place) for Best Special Series/Documentary
- Samantha Morrill - Best Long, Serious News Feature for "Morehead Trailer Park Mass Evictions"
