'Weird' Nottingham Forest transfer questioned after Man United moment

Nottingham Forest supporters were left questioning one of the club's transfer decisions after watching Manchester United exit the Europa League.

Erik ten Hag’s side travelled to take on Sevilla in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday night. After playing out a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last week, the Spanish side recorded a resounding 3-0 win to cruise through to the semi-finals.

However, there was a familiar face on the pitch for Forest fans. Defender Loic Bade - who was signed from Rennes in the summer, only to have his loan cancelled in January - lined up for Sevilla and scored to put the home side 2-0 ahead.

The 23-year-old centre-back arrived at the City Ground with a promising reputation but did not play a minute for Steve Cooper’s side before securing a switch to Sevilla. Bade also scored in his previous game against Valencia and Forest fans on social media were left confused, after watching the defender compete against Man United.

@SimonBullock74: Why was Loic Bade not good enough to get one second of football with us before being bombed out and yet he’s scoring against Man U in the Europa league tonight having scored at the weekend too?

@Forestaremagic0: Loic Bade couldn’t even get a game for us.

@DavidPNicholson: Maybe the recruitment team could spot a player! Shame Bade never got a chance.

@Super_Cooper_FK: Surely I’m not the only one who thinks that Lioc Badé deserved a chance? We lost a little gem there I think…

@_Gman1_: Loic Bade not good enough for us apparently.

@DanielLCLifford: Bade was such a weird one. Scoring in a European quarter final yet couldn’t get a look in.

@Sam_Rowan: I love Steve Cooper, we all do, but not giving Bade a chance over playing Cook earlier in the season was one of a few questionable things he has done this year.

@ryanNFFC_: LOIC BADE HAS JUST SCORED IN A EUROPE QUARTER FINAL, WHY FOREST WHY?
