A weekend of chaos on Irish roads left two gardai injured after a car chase that began in north Dublin ended in Co Meath.
The incident happened yesterday evening when gardai tried to stop an allegedly stolen car in Cabra. But the car failed to stop leading to a chase all the way to Ashbourne.
During the chase the car collided with two garda vehicles with two male members of the force hospitalised. They have both now reported as unfit for duty and are receiving support.
The four people in the car, three male and one female teens, were arrested. They have since been released and have been referred to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.
