With just two weeks to go in the regular season, we are getting a clearer playoff picture around the NFL as we sort out this week’s NFL Power Rankings. Teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Joe Flacco and the Cleveland Browns continue to defy the odds and rattle off wins down the stretch to solidify their spots in the postseason. The Miami Dolphins have added a quality win over the Dallas Cowboys to their resume as well.
The Browns have held a firm grasp of the fifth seed and top wildcard in the AFC for three weeks now, the Buccaneers have separated themselves from the rest of the abysmal NFC South, and the Miami Dolphins will likely go down to the wire with the red-hot Buffalo Bills for the AFC East title.
What does the NFL landscape look like with just two weeks left until we get to the playoffs? Tap into this week’s edition of NFL Power Rankings.
32
Carolina Panthers (2-13)
Better luck next year. Or the year after.
31
Washington Commanders (4-11)
Drake Maye YOU are a Washington Commander.
30
Arizona Cardinals (3-12)
Are we sure they are committed to Kyler Murray?
29
New York Giants (5-10)
I don’t know where the Giants go from here.
28
New England Patriots (4-11)
Changes are coming to New England for the first time in a long time despite the win against the Broncos.
27
New York Jets (6-9)
Trevor Siemien got the job done. Which tells you where the Jets are at. Joe Flacco has a chance to clinch a playoff spot for the Browns against his former team on Thursday night.
26
Los Angeles Chargers (5-10)
So close to spoiling the playoff hopes of the Bills, the Chargers instead take another loss.
25
Tennessee Titans (5-10)
Tannehill? Levis? A trade-up for someone else? What direction do the Titans take this offseason?
24
Atlanta Falcons (7-8)
Taylor Heinicke gives the Falcons the best chance to win, but it might be too little too late.
23
New Orleans Saints (7-8)
After yet another loss, this time to the Rams, the Saints’ playoff hopes are dwindling.
22
Chicago Bears (6-9)
Ending the season on a bit of a run, are Eberflus and Fields doing enough to save their jobs?
21
Denver Broncos (7-8)
Well, it was a fun couple of weeks anyway.
20
Minnesota Vikings (7-8)
The fun is over and the luck has run out.
19
Las Vegas Raiders (7-8)
They have been a fun story since Antonio Pierce took over, but changes are still coming in Vegas.
18
Cincinnati Bengals (8-7)
Their season is over after a blowout loss to the Steelers.
17
Green Bay Packers (7-8)
With a win this week, the Packers are barely hanging on by a thread as they seek out a playoff spot.
16
Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7)
Rudolph saves Christmas in Pittsburgh.
15
Indianapolis Colts (8-7)
The Colts may have met their peak with the arm of Gardner Minshew under center.
14
Houston Texans (8-7)
I would say this team is doomed after a loss to the Browns, but the rest of the AFC South is bad and a return of C.J. Stroud could push the Texans into a division title.
13
Jacksonville Jaguars (8-7)
Things are not trending in the right direction in Jacksonville.
12
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-7)
Baker Mayfield is playing his best football at the right time in a bad division as the Buccaneers are surging.
11
Seattle Seahawks (8-7)
Geno Smith and the Seahawks keep their playoff hopes alive!
10
Kansas City Chiefs (9-6)
Patrick Mahomes is throwing to cartoon characters and stick figures.
9
Philadelphia Eagles (11-4)
Nothing is going right on either side of the ball for the Eagles. But they have a cupcake schedule over the last few weeks to get it figured out.
8
Cleveland Browns (10-5)
Joe Flacco has the Browns hitting strides through the air they have not found in quite some time.
7
Los Angeles Rams (8-7)
Matthew Stafford is playing some of his best football right now for the Rams. There may not be three quarterbacks better than him over the back half of the season.
6
Detroit Lions (11-4)
There is still room to question their quality of wins, but the Lions have clinched their first-ever divisional title. That deserves to be recognized.
5
Dallas Cowboys (10-5)
Since beating the Eagles, the Cowboys have now lost two straight to the top AFC East teams in the Bills and Dolphins.
4
Miami Dolphins (11-4)
The Dolphins finally get a quality win. They still have a couple of tough matchups left down the stretch.
3
Buffalo Bills (9-6)
Perhaps the hottest team in football, Buffalo is looking like the juggernauts we thought they would be preseason.
2
Baltimore Ravens (11-3)
The Ravens are set for another AFC North title and look primed for a run at a Super Bowl. They do, however, have a tough schedule ahead to prove who they really are.
1
San Francisco 49ers (11-3)
Until further notice.
