Three men dead and two fighting for life after horror crash on busy Scots road

Three men have died after a horror crash on a busy Scots road.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the two-car smash on the A711 Dalbeattie Road, near Dumfries, around 12.40am on Wednesday, March 16.

Cops locked down the road close to Mossend Cottage as they launched a probe into the collision between a Honda Civic and Honda CRV.

The force confirmed three men, passengers in the Civic, died at the scene.

Shocking footage shows a white car hit a man dressed in dark clothes (HANDOUT)

An attempted murder probe is underway after a man was deliberately mowed down by a car in Clydebank.

Shocking footage captured the moment a white Toyota C-HR drove at the 31-year-old victim in Crown Avenue in front of a crowd of people at 6.30pm on Tuesday.

The man, dressed in dark clothing, can first be seen emptying rubbish from a bin across the street.

Onlookers can be heard shouting over at the man, stood halfway up the hill, as rubbish is strewn across the area.

Report finds cigarette lighter led to fatal house fire in Paisley that killed three children

It has been revealed that a cigarette lighter was the source of a fatal house fire that killed three children in Paisley almost two years ago.

A fire service report into the accident has found the source was a cigarette lighter that set bedding on fire.

Fiona Gibson, 12, and her brothers Alexander, eight, and Philip, five, died at their Gallowhill flat on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Their mum, Julie Daley, was injured in the fire but survived. The children’s dad, Alex Gibson was out at a nearby Tesco and returned home to find the flat in flames.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service incident report said that all three children died after being overcome by smoke.

Stranger parks car on family’s driveway near airport for days

A dad was left raging after waking up to find a stranger had parked a car in the driveway of his home and didn't come back to move it for four days.

Zekarias Haile, 51, who lives with his wife and two children near Manchester Airport believes the driver was on a jaunt to sunnier climates and saw the opportunity to avoid paying premium for parking.

It was Thursday morning last week when Zekarias stepped outside to find the rogue grey Range Rover in question plonked in the driveway at the side of his home.

Dementia risk linked to low levels of one vitamin supplement

Older people with low levels of vitamin B9 have a higher risk of dementia, a study suggests.

Having low levels of the vitamin, also known as folate, has also been linked to premature death.

Academics from the US and Israel said that folate levels should be routinely monitored among older adults and deficiencies should be corrected.

Folate helps the body make healthy red blood cells and is found in certain foods.
