The happiest day of a couples' life turned into a nightmare when the groom died from an electric shock on their wedding night.
Aziz Karambali, 33, who is from Tunisia, got hitched in the city of Hammamet, around an hour's drive southeast of the capital, Tunis.
The tragedy unfolded after their guests had left following a fully day of celebrating the happy couple's nuptials.
Aziz and two of his pals who had stayed behind after the party decided to go down to the pool for a dip. But as they were about to leave, an electrical current made contact with the water, shocking all three of the men.
While the two friends miraculously survived, Aziz was not so lucky and passed away.
Initial reports from eyewitnesses say that an electrical pole close to the pool was defective, and somehow led to a current leaking into the water.
The groom's body has been held for a post-mortem as police enquiries continue.
