The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported further progress of the Southwest Monsoon across several parts of the country. As of 25 June 2026, the monsoon has advanced into more areas of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, covered the remaining parts of Maharashtra, and spread further into Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
At the same time, the weather department has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in several states, while heatwave conditions are expected to continue in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
