Weather updates today, July 16: IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rain in east and northeast India; check state-wise forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across several parts of the country on Thursday, with heavy to very heavy rain likely over parts of east and northeast India. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also expected in multiple states, while hot and humid conditions are likely to persist over parts of north and south India.
