Weather tomorrow September 29: Rain, thunderstorms and heavy showers are likely across several parts of India on Tuesday, with weather activity expected in the north, northeast, east, west and southern regions. Himachal Pradesh, parts of Northeast India, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka are among the areas that could see heavy rainfall, while thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also forecast in several states.

Jammu and Kashmir

Isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on September 29. Similar weather conditions are also likely during October 2-4.

Himachal Pradesh

Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Himachal Pradesh on September 29. Isolated heavy rainfall was also likely over the state on September 28.

Uttarakhand

Isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Uttarakhand from September 29 to October 4.

Rajasthan

Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over East Rajasthan on September 29.

Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi

Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi are likely to experience isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on September 29.

Punjab

Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Punjab on September 29.

Uttar Pradesh

West Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on September 29. East Uttar Pradesh is likely to see similar rainfall and thunderstorm activity through September 30.

Madhya Pradesh

Isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over West Madhya Pradesh on September 29. East Madhya Pradesh is likely to see similar conditions on September 29 and through October 2.

Vidarbha

Isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Vidarbha on September 29 and September 30.

Chhattisgarh

Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Chhattisgarh on September 29, with the weather activity expected to continue through October 4.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on September 29. Isolated to scattered rainfall is expected from September 30 to October 4.

West Bengal

Gangetic West Bengal is likely to experience isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning from September 29 through October 4. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal is also likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning during the same period.

Jharkhand

Isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Jharkhand from September 29 to October 4.

Odisha

Odisha is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning from September 29 to October 4.

Bihar

Isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Bihar on September 29 and September 30.

Arunachal Pradesh

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh on September 29. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected during October 3-4.

Assam and Meghalaya

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Assam and Meghalaya on September 29, with thunderstorms and lightning also possible. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely during September 29-30.

Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on September 29. Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely, while isolated heavy rainfall is forecast during September 29-30.

Maharashtra

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on September 29. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph and gusting to 60 kmph are likely over Madhya Maharashtra on September 29.

Gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting to 50 kmph are also likely over Madhya Maharashtra on September 30.

Goa

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Konkan and Goa on September 29, with similar rainfall activity expected through October 4. Gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting to 50 kmph are also likely over Konkan and Goa on September 29.

Gujarat

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over the Gujarat region on September 29, with similar rainfall activity expected through October 1. Saurashtra and Kutch are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall from September 30 to October 1.

Andhra Pradesh

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema on September 29. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting to 50 kmph are also likely through October 2.

Strong surface winds are expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema from September 29 to October 2.

Karnataka

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over North Interior Karnataka on September 29, with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting to 50 kmph through September 30.

South Interior Karnataka is likely to see fairly widespread to widespread rainfall from September 29 to October 1. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting to 50 kmph are also likely on September 29. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected from September 29 to October 2.

Coastal Karnataka is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on September 29, with fairly widespread to widespread rainfall expected from October 1-2.

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on September 29.

Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph and gusting to 60 kmph are likely through October 2. Isolated heavy rainfall is also expected from September 29 to October 1.

Kerala

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Kerala and Mahe on September 29, with fairly widespread to widespread rainfall expected from October 1-4.

Gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting to 50 kmph are likely on September 29. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph and gusting to 60 kmph are expected from September 30 to October 2.

Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely from September 30 to October 3.

Telangana

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Telangana on September 29, with another spell expected during October 2-3.

Lakshadweep

Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Lakshadweep on September 29 and is expected to continue through October 4.

Northwest India weather outlook

Many parts of Northwest India are likely to experience mainly dry weather from September 30, 2026. However, rainfall and thunderstorm activity could continue in parts of the region on September 29, particularly across Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
