A May heatwave could be on its way according to one forecaster at the Met Office. A mid 20s heat blast is expected from May 13 onwards, with "above average temperatures" expected across the UK but some "brighter conditions" in the south.
Whilst the middle of May looks to be cloudy for Nottingham, this weekend is expected to see highs of 17C being reached but, as the month goes on, it's due to see temperatures get closer to 20C. Looking ahead from May 23 into early June, the meteorologists say: "Confidence during this period is typically low, but changeable weather appears to be the most likely outcome at this time.
"Most areas will likely see some spells of unsettled weather, as well as periods of drier and brighter weather. Above average temperatures are slightly more likely than below average." British Weather Services Jim Dale forecast that temperatures may reach the mid-20Cs sooner rather than later, reports Birmingham Live.
