Weather forecast map shows mild Leeds Monday despite big freeze fears

It is set to be a mild Monday in Leeds with temperatures topping 9C in the afternoon and a chance of some sunny spells, despite fears of a 'Big Freeze' across the Uk.

The worst of the wintry weather still seems a long way away with a start of around 5C and cloud cover alongside a very low chance of rain as we enter a new week. Sunrise is at 7.31am and cloud cover will see temperatures slowly rise to 8C by midday.

The cloud is due to break between 2pm and 5pm with a good chance of some sunny spells and a high of 9C at around 3pm. Sunset at 5.11pm will see temperatures drop back down to 6C into the evening.

The Met Office weather forecast for the region said: "Fine weather with large amounts of cloud likely.

"Remaining dry overnight and mostly cloudy. Risk of a few cloud breaks may allow some patchy misty conditions to develop, feeling cold with a patchy rural frost. Minimum temperature 2C.

"Monday starting cold with some morning mist which will likely clear quickly. Cloudy to start but some good sunny periods developing in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 9C.

"Mist and fog clearing on Tuesday morning to give some sunshine. Wednesday cloudier with chance of rain. Rain and freshening winds arriving overnight. Thursday turning a little drier by afternoon."
