Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has addressed the future of Marco Asensio as the midfielder edges closer to the end of his contract.
The 26-year-old has a matter of months remaining on his current deal, which expires at the end of this campaign, and will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs in January or be offloaded in a cut-price deal.
Liverpool are among the teams to have been linked with the Spaniard, though are likely to face competition for his services given his age and ability to perform at the top-level.

Asensio has made a total of ten appearances in all competitions this term, none of which have been starts, seemingly painting a clear picture of his long-term future with Los Blancos. Madrid are both top of La Liga and their Champions League group, suggesting they have managed sufficiently without the need for the three-time European Cup winner enjoying a starring role within the team.
As speculation continues over what will happen next in the case of Asensio, Ancelotti has insisted talks will be held once the World Cup has taken place.
“We haven’t talked about contract issues because Marco is a player I trust," explained the ex-Everton boss. "He has played very little, but he always shows me things and with the few minutes I give him, he does well. He will have more minutes in the future. After the World Cup we will talk about his contractual situation,” he told AS.
