Trying Enjoy Cafe by the Idlewells Shopping Centre has made me think twice about visiting Sutton-in-Ashfield for food more often as I definitely go back. With simplistic décor and an atmosphere as warm as my cup of tea, this café was filled with people who seemed to be regulars.
As the sound of cutlery clattered about and a radio played Christmas tunes in the background, I was greeted by a member of staff. Taking a window seat, to watch the world go by, despite the cold, there were numerous people sitting outside chatting away.

Looking at the menu, there were many comfort foods that were right up my street. Jacket potatoes, fish and chips, a full English…Perfect to devour on a cold winter’s day.
As I listened to short, friendly conversations between staff and customers, I decided to go for a tea which cost £1.40 and beans on toast for £3.70.
I quickly received my hot drink and food and tucked into my beans on toast. The weather was cold so I wanted something that would quickly warm me up.
As I’m sipping on my tea I overhear one of the customers ask the staff ‘how was your Christmas?’ and then they continued to have a lovely chat. It seems the café has a good relationship with their customers, it definitely has a community feel, and it comes across like everyone knows each other.
