We tried to visit an elusive abandoned shopping centre near Edinburgh

An abandoned shopping centre in the heart of West Lothian may still be standing - but it hasn't seen shoppers in years.

The Freeport Shopping Centre near West Calder first opened back in 1996 when it was hailed as a new 'premier outlet for designer clothes' in Scotland.

However, due to a large decline in foot traffic in 2004, the centre was forced to close - and the site has been derelict ever since.
