As we approached MyCookieDough, we were overwhelmed with the fresh smell of freshly baked dough. The menu was displayed above the till with plenty of options to satisfy all of our sweet tooth needs.
We chose the ‘Kinder cookie dough’ and the ‘Biscoff cookie dough’ which were £5.95 each, both teamed up with fresh ice cream. We ended up waiting around 10 minutes for our cookie dough, but at least that was a sign it was being freshly prepared. Here’s our verdict on the two cookie dough desserts:
The Kinder cookie dough
I was amazed with how soft and doughy the cookie dough was, it was crunchy to cut into at first, but revealed a soft warm and gooey centre. The Kinder sauce on top of the dough worked perfectly with the dough and was just the right amount of sweet.
Although there were a lot of flavours going on in the dessert, it was still incredibly moreish. The ice cream was smooth like butter and tasted quite luxurious.
If I had to compare the ice cream to anything, I’d say it tasted a bit like a posh McFlurry! It had a creamy, buttery vanilla flavour and was lovely and cold on my tongue.
It worked really well with the cookie dough and added a little something extra to the already delicious dessert. One thing I will say though, is that you don’t need much of it!
The portion size for me was perfect, although I struggled to eat it all I didn't find myself overwhelmed with massive amounts of desserts. It was absolutely spot on, and I'm already dreaming about my next one.
The Biscoff cookie dough
When we arrived I struggled to decide what to order as everything on the menu looked delicious. I'm a bit of a brownie lover, so that tempted me. I also liked the sound of the double stack cookie doughs, but the server behind the counter suggested they were best for sharing, or if you've got a large appetite, so I settled on a regular size.
When I spotted the Biscoff, the decision was made and once it arrived, there was no regrets. As mentioned, it took a while to prepare, but there is a small seating area in the café where we could wait.
The cookie itself was a decent size, and had a really soft, crumbly texture, yet it was quite buttery so it didn't flake all over the place. It was absolutely slathered in a thick caramel sauce, with bits of crumbled up Biscoff on top, which added a really nice crunchy texture.
The ice cream was a whippy style, and really quite thick and creamy. The contrast of the cold ice cream alongside the warm cookie made it feel like the kind of treat you'd get in a restaurant.
There was certainly enough of it, and despite only leaving a small amount, the server offered to package it up so I could finish it later, which was good to know if ever I set my sights on one of the double stacks.
Overall, I thought the quality and portion size was really good value for money, so I'd certainly visit again when I've next fancy a real treat. You can order at MyCookieDough through Deliveroo here.
